Our Story

How it all began: During a “sip and see” video chat, a group grad student friends chased away the pandemic isolation that had become the new normal for 2020. Lamenting the challenges of going from high-achieving professionals and students with busy, on-the-go lives to full-time home-school teachers, gourmet chefs, bakers, and therapists for their children and spouses, they all fell upon a commonly held fear: that our children might fall behind in their development. Unlike some others, who might not know where to start addressing such a concern, these students from USC, UCLA, Northwestern, and other institutions of higher learning were uniquely qualified to answer the question at hand. With over 100 years of combined child develop and human service experiences between them, the group believed that a curriculum could be developed that married online delivery with the basics required for school readiness. As fervent believers in the importance of education, they were confident that such a program could be digitally delivered with quality and engagement. And, so, Figital was born.
